Desperately Seeking ______________ on Sale...

What are you desperately seeking on sale?

Food Therapy

Good food is as satisfying as a good sale. So from time to time (probably more than that because I'm a foodie and I love to eat), I'll be providing some food therapy. Be forewarned, I'm an adventurous eater with a HUGE sweet tooth. If you're in NYC, I hope you try some of these spots. If you do, LMK what you think. Bon appetit!

Video Reviews

While picture reveals of bags are nice. Video reviews of bags are better! As such, I will endeavor to post as many video reviews of bags as possible. However, I will only be reviewing bags that I like. Life is too short to review bags that I dislike. Plus, at the end of the day, it really is just a matter of personal opinion/taste.

Food Therapy: DC's Maine Avenue Fish Market

This past weekend, I went to DC to celebrate Meh's birthday.  We ended up at Maine Avenue Fish Market because what's a birthday celebration without a seafoodfest??

I hate to admit this, but the pricing and quality of the seafood at Maine Avenue Fish Market (1100 Maine Avenue SW, Washington DC) really puts NYC seafood to shame.  If you love crabs, oysters and clams, don't miss the fish market on your next trip to DC.  It's not a commercial fish market so you don't have to buy in bulk.  You can buy just enough for lunch!

This is what we had for lunch:
  • Blue Crabs with Old Bay:  Blue Crabs + Old Bay = Happy Times!!  It's currently crab season, so the crab meat was tender and sweet.  And Old Bay added just right amount of kick!
  • Raw Oysters: At $13 for a dozen, you can't beat the price.  I love raw oysters, so I went to town!  Big Buddha, Foodette and Meh were disgusted by the amount I chowed down on.  But hey, it was $13 for a dozen!!  Did I mention that they were perfectly shucked and super fresh?
  • Raw Clams:  Raw Clams went for $9 for a ginormous dozen.  I'm not a huge fan of raw clams but Big Buddha is.
  • Strawberry Shortcake:  How could we say "no" to free samples of strawberry shortcake and free lemonade?
