Desperately Seeking ______________ on Sale...

What are you desperately seeking on sale?

Food Therapy

Good food is as satisfying as a good sale. So from time to time (probably more than that because I'm a foodie and I love to eat), I'll be providing some food therapy. Be forewarned, I'm an adventurous eater with a HUGE sweet tooth. If you're in NYC, I hope you try some of these spots. If you do, LMK what you think. Bon appetit!

Video Reviews

While picture reveals of bags are nice. Video reviews of bags are better! As such, I will endeavor to post as many video reviews of bags as possible. However, I will only be reviewing bags that I like. Life is too short to review bags that I dislike. Plus, at the end of the day, it really is just a matter of personal opinion/taste.

Food Therapy: Making Him Sorry With Food Porn

Several years back when Per Se was one of the hottest new restaurants in town, I nabbed a table for two on my birthday for lunch. It was supposed to be a 3-hour food and wine orgy with Sunshine.  Unfortunately, we got into a HUGE argument the morning of my birthday; I have no idea what the fight was about, but I'm pretty sure that he was being ridiculous on MY birthday.  (Wink.  Wink.)  So being the upset birthday girl that I was, I un-invited Sunshine to the Per Se lunch.  Since it was too late to cancel my lunch reservations (I was going to get fully charged for being a no-show), I had Big Buddha step in as my dining companion.

As a side note, Big Buddha did NOT want to go.  He didn't like the idea that I would be paying for the birthday lunch.  As a man, Big Buddha felt that he should, at the very least, pay for his share of lunch.  But I was the one who needed a dining companion, so I was determined to pay.  Moreover, he felt that Sunshine and I should have made up before the Per Se lunch.  But that wasn't going to happen when there were only 30 minutes remaining before the lunch reservations.  (Looking back, I fully agree that we should have made up prior to lunch.  After you read the rest of the story, you will understand why Sunshine fully agrees a well.)

Let me just say that the food was so incredible that day that the second Big Buddha had his first bite, all of his misgivings were promptly forgotten.  He ended up smiling like the dorkus that he is for the rest of the meal.  The dining experience at Per Se was everything that I had anticipated and more, but I was still fuming over my argument with Sunshine.  It wasn't the same without him.  So what would make him sorry for missing this very decadent and very yummy meal on my birthday?  Food porn!  I lovingly took pictures of every dish on the tasting menu.  And when I returned home, I did a slide-show presentation of the tasting menu...on my 56" flat screen tv!  I also added a running commentary on the culinary delights of each dish.  It was one of my best slide-show presentations to date.  :)

For several years afterward, Sunshine refused to go to Per Se.  The memory of my slide-show presentation was still fresh in his mind.  A picture really is worth a thousand words!
